Hero Shot

The hero shot showcases the integration of the showroom into the terrain and the elevation of the top client's studio off the ground level. It also captures the playful essence of the top studio through the combination of curves, shapes and sizes and hence represents the client effectively. This view provides an understanding of the interaction of the weirdly shaped windows to the rest of the studio space. It gives the audience an idea of how creations of art can be inspired through the movement of the lines on the building itself. On the otherhand, the showroom can be seen as a relatively plain space sheltered by the top studio. This opens up the space to the interpretation and planning of the client or audience.

Detail shot

The detail shot focuses on the staircase leading from the showroom to the top studio space. The irregular lengths of steps are shown and contrast greatly to the rigid, formal structures of the column and floor seen surrounding the stair. The texture on the stair draws greater attention to the unique design as it seems almost erratic with the energetic swirls.

Week 2- Stair Concept Submission

Week 2- Stair Concept Submission

Dynamic stair

The concept of the staircase leading from the lower level client, Auto Fabrica, to the showroom was based on the word 'dynamic'. Taking inspiration from one of my previous section sketches, I created a staircase that would unite the client and the word 'dynamic'. The sharp spikes can be interpreted as the fierce nature of motorcycles as they rumble and speed down highways. Whilst the protruding faces of the spikes exude a dynamic aura created by the rhythmic up and down of the surface. The inclusion of a ramp on both sides of the steps is to assist with the moving of the client's motorcycles up and down to the showroom.

Irregular stair

The concept of the staircase leading from the upper level client, 'Off-white', down to the showroom was based off the word 'irregular'. The lighthearted nature of their clothes is represented in the floating stairs as they give off a weightless feeling in the air. Additionally, the mismatching lengths and widths of the steps fit with the word 'irregular'. Also the random wires that connect the handrail to the steps are adventurous, much like the client's work, as no two wires are the same length or angle.
